I actually marathoned all of season one over like a day and a half haha. Battle Tendency was definitely my fav of both parts and I loved Joseph a lot.

I started Stardust Crusaders like a week ago or so but… I’m a little discouraged at the moment? Mostly it’s just that Jotaro is really awful and already the way the female characters are treated makes me feel pretty grossed out, which sucks because I’ve def been interested in the plot and the Stand concept and also grandpappy Joseph.

I’ll just… I’ll just imagine an AU where Jotaro goes in the trash and Stardust Crusaders can just be about Joseph and Holly’s adventures in Egypt.

I started watching JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure lately so I decided I’d draw a tough street thug, aka Speedwagon.
I am very into the JoJos.

Eros and missnk's Kari bonding over a mutual dislike of Mockingbird, hahaha.

Finally there’s someone she can vent to about everything that drives her up the wall with that creepo..

The Sun Maiden and the Moon Maiden.

I know I’m probably gonna get some flack for this but…

This whole Sailor Moon Crystal deal feels like a reverse of Full Metal Alchemist and FMA: Brotherhood where people didn’t like the original anime then praised the one that was a faithful reboot to the manga.

I think a big problem is that the original Sailor Moon anime came out 20 years ago when a lot of us were pretty young and there was no manga available for us to compare it to. Well… even now that it is it’s not really something the majority of us have read. It’s not engraved in our collective nostalgia as the Dark Kingdom arc of the anime is (tho to be fair I have no idea why there’s huge fondness for that one when it’s arguably the dullest one with most of its 46 episodes consisting of filler. I find it hard to watch now).

Still I find it odd that a lot of us are brushing off Crystal (one episode in to boot) because it doesn’t fit the image of Sailor Moon that we remember.  Which… was kind of the point of it given that Crystal’s story is meant to be a closer adaptation of the manga’s story, something that the original anime never achieved given that they made it while Naoko Takeuchi was still in the process of writing it. They branched off pretty fast. Sounds familiar, right?

Yeah, the art’s not as cute, a little wonky even, and Usagi’s expressions could be more varied. I 100% agree with that but I also believe that it can be improved given that we’ve only seen one episode so far. However I’m… not at all bothered by the fact that she no longer has her crazy expressions. While she did have some occasional goofy faces in the comic, they weren’t nearly as frequent and it’s never been a necessary part of her character. That’s purely what we remember of her from the original which had a bigger focus on comedy during the filler episodes anyway. Usagi from the 90s anime is almost a completely different person from her manga counterpart and honestly if you’re expecting everyone to act exactly the same as how you remembered them thennn you’re in for a lot of disappointment (did you know that Zoicite and Kunzite were only a couple in the anime?). I for one am excited to see Venus in Crystal given how much they butchered her character in the old series by treating her as the dumber, more vain Usagi. She’s the leader of the senshi, dagnabbit. 8(

Just my feelings on the matter, of course, feel free to disagree. As I said there are definitely valid complaints too. Me? I’m just waiting for something like this to happen in the reboot.
